A monstrous photo that looks like a headless dog has caused a stir in the online community.

A snapshot is making the rounds on the internet that has people confused about the subject matter. At first view, it appears to be a headless dog, which explains the widespread worry and concern. It’s one that will have you performing numerous double-takes just to understand what’s going on in the picture.

However, it’s not as sinister as you would first think. And we are so thankful for that!

The image was uploaded to Imgur, where it rapidly became viral. And it’s easy to see why. Hundreds of thousands of views and upvotes were given to the final image.

However, it was eventually proven that there was no need to be concerned about the image. It was just a puppy that had to have his front leg severed as a result of surgery. The snapshot was an unintended consequence of his owner taking a picture of him as he turned around to lick his side. Someone was able to illustrate how the photo happened using a drawing diagram in order to clear up confusion for folks online.

To set everyone’s concerns at ease, the dog’s owner presented a full-frontal photo of the now-famous pup with his three legs.

He’s a cute little thing, and we can only assume it’s only a matter of time until he becomes a social media pet influencer.
